Password lost to 8310 - need override code to get into phone

I had let a friend borrow my blackberry 8310 that did not have any password set. He set a password and I did not realize it. It has been 6 months and I only use the phone when going on vacation - and he says he forgets what he set for a password. Is there any master password to get into this phone and use it again?

If your friend does not remember the password, the only thing you can do is enter the incorrect password 10 times, which will wipe all user data. Then you can restore from a backup if you have one. If you do not have a backup, you are out of luck.

There is no way to override the password. That is how BlackBerry security works, and it is also why you should not let your friends mess around with your BlackBerry.

It's been a while since I've run 4.x on an 83xx, but try this path:

Options> Security Options> General Settings - Menu> Wipe Handheld password=blackberry

Just enter the password incorrectly the set number of times and the device will wipe.
