i just got another curve from a seller locally and in options-security, and where you can either have the options of enabled or disabled, it shows enabled with a red padlock next to it and wouldnt let me disable having a password on. so i updated the software to OS 4.5 thinking that would restore the factory settings and allow me to disable the password, but its still on there.. is there any way i can get it to be able to have the password disabled?

Are you sure they are new devices? usually the red pad lock means there is IT policy that blocks access to changing this option

no it wasnt new, but is that just always something that will be there?

Yes until the IT policy is removed. Do a search for removing IT policy
