    So I just got a curve from my work. We're not on any corporate server I don't think. I just set up my work email as my email address and that works fine. But how do I get my outlook-contact and calendar on it?

    IF you are not on a BES corporate server, sync your BB via Desktop Manager with your Outlook on the PC.

    How do I do that? I installed bb desktop but when I synced it said that there were no applications to sync

    ok, more details needed from you then.
    What OS on your PC? Vista?
    What Desktop Manager version did you install?

    Did you click on Synchronize now, Configuration and setup Outlook to sync to the BB?
