I upgraded my OS from 4.2 -> 4.5 today, and before doing it I backed up my data -- twice. This was using the desktop app for Windows.

It's a good thing I did, because the upgrade crashed the Blackberry and deleted everything. I was finally able to get 4.5 on the device on a second try, but all my data, apps, etc are gone.

I've tried doing a restore from the data but it's not working. I choose Restore in the Desktop Manager and nothing happens. It just freezes on "Transfer in progress"

Any ideas? Is it potentially due to the OS upgrade? The backed up data was from an older OS?

What version of DM are you using? If it is 4.7 it can be buggy when used with Curves.

I had big problems when I tried using DM v4.7.

Unfortunately, even if you are able to restore from your backup file, you will lose your 3rd party apps.

Next time do a 3rd party backup in addition to a regular backup:
