Is there anyway to always allow Opera access to "a low-level internet connection". I hate this notification popping up every time I go to a website. It's a browser, of course it's trying to access the internet. I looked under permissions and everything is set to allow.

You have an "unsigned" program, as we all do. Here are your choices:

    1. Check your firewall settings [Options/Security Options/Firewall] that may get rid of the message.

    2. Just live with it - know you need to add an extra click when you launch Opera.

    3. Wait for the 4.5 OS - everybody says the BB browser is awesome.

Well, 4.3 AKA 4.5 came with my Blackberry and while the browser is fine it's definitely not as fast as Opera. I'll see if the Firewall settings do anything though, thanks!

    I'm sorry. 4.3 AKA 4.5???? What's that mean exactly?

You either have 4.3 or you have 4.5.

Nah, they renamed 4.3 to 4.5 from what I understand. I have had all the features of that OS since I bought my Curve. Video recording, streaming You Tube, new browser, etc...

BTW: I found a fix for anyone that cares. Turn on your firewall and then open Opera and set to always allow socket connection and it shouldn't pop up again.

Sorry, but I think you are mistaken! 4.3 has not been "renamed" to 4.5. There are big differences.

OS 4.5 due out end of April? | BlackBerry Cool
I know this is an older post, but go this site and read through the 6th comment down. I just did a quick Google search, I'm sure there are more sites with this information.

I have looked through the 4.5 posts on this site and there are no new features that my phone doesn't currently have from what I can see.

OK! On your phone go to options > about, and tell see what numbers are after the v.

Or, hit ALT-shift and H together, then scroll down to where it says APP Version.

Those options will tell you what you are running. It will either say 4.3xx or 4.5xx.

    Are you in the US?

According to those pictures you are running 4.3.0.124 not 4.5xx. Therefore, you in fact do not have all of the changes yet. I thought that sounded odd since 4.5 hasn't been sold on phones from the factory yet. It hasn't even been "officially" released in the U.S.

Hmm.. I don't know then. What other features are they going to add? I have everything people have been raving about. YouTube:

    I have the 8330. I think the 8330's 4.3 is equivalent to the 8300's 4.5.

    Install the Blackberry desktop software
Go to: oppitronic.[net|de] and get BB Screen Shooter
You will also need Javaloader.exe, I don't know if I'm allowed to post that here, but if you search on Google, it's not too hard to find.

Basically going from 4.3 to 4.5 there are some improvements to the BB browser pages will render closer to how they do on a pc with one exception I seen screenshots of. It also adds docs to go which works with native MS office documents so you can edit and save them on your BB. I know there are other additions/enhancements we don't have on 4.3 but we do have some things it has that 4.2 users don't have.
