- If you just bought the phone, your plan may not be active yet. Not likely, but possible.
- I assume you bought a plan that includes text and data. If not, you'll need to.
- If that's not it, pull your battery (with the phone on), leave it out about a minute, and put it back. Try sending a message and see if it works.
- If none of that fixed it, you probably need to refresh your host routing table and resend your service books. Here's a link to walk you through that:
