.69 was draining my batter somewhat and had some memory leak. On 4.2.2 I would on normal use have around 75-80% battery life at the end of the day (dont use the phone too much). I would also have about 15-18mb onboard memory free.
On 4.5.0.69 I was down to 50% battery and 10mb of memory.

We'll see how this fairs with .81

to be noted on .69 BBSmart email viewer worked no problem. On .81 it does not work :-(

I'm a new Crackberry junkie. First post too. Just wanted to let everyone know I just completed the .81 update on my 8310 on the AT&T network. So far everything works great. I just wanted to think all the experts on Crackberry for all their great advise and directions. I don't know why I waited so long to upgrade, it was a breeze.

Can someone tell me the reason to downloading the 4.5.0.81 from Fiji instead of the newest 4.6 in America?

This is because the one from fiji is the newest OS out there. The 4.6 your seeing is the Desktop Manager. No such thing as OS 4.6 for curves (yet)

4.6 is an OS is not designed for the 83xx series.

why are you running an email viewer on a 4.5 OS?
what features makes it worth while, beyond what the OS html viewer does for you?

ÿ Here is some good news for anyone looking to upload a huge music library on their BlackBerry.
RIM has posted in their support centre that any OS 4.5.0.81 and higher will support 16GB MicroSD cards, which should be available on the market very soon (if not already?).
Here is the breakdown that RIM provides:
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0.81 and above Up to 16 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 Up to 16 G

This a lil info I came across on the web (somewhere) and wanted to share w/ you guys.
Can someone w/ the .81 confirm this???

Just upgrade, lost a lot of memory though. Hovering at 22MB after battery pull. :\
