OK, last time.

Close DM and unplug your BB. On your PC, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove programs. Select DM. Click Change/Remove. Click Next. Select Modify, Next. Uncheck "Blackberry Automatic Update". Next. Follow the Prompts. You'll be given 3 checkboxes. The bottom one mentions Updating Online. Uncheck it. Complete the process.

Start DM, plug in BB. Launch App Loader if needed, wasn't needed for me. Should detect it fine and upgrade.

If you had read my post, you would have seen that I said that I had already read your instructions, followed them exactly (eve delted and reinstalled DM) and it still will not update or even notice .89.

It didn't work for me, but I'll uninstall all and give it another shot..

Also, do a search for vendor.xml, make sure to include hidden files and folders. Should find the obvious vendor.xml we all know about, but there is also a hidden one created by the DM. If you do not delete this, DM will continue to use it.

Also, after the modify/uninstall/reinstall, try not using DM. Launch the Apploader manually by hand. I do this normally as it is quicker and doesn't provide the overhead of the full blown DM.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Loader.exe

Thanks for the help cexshun. As I posted yesterday I was having difficulty with this installation even following your directions. After uninstalling/reinstalling DM 4.7 (without the options you recommend turning off), and then launching the app loader via the .exe file (instead of through the DM), I was able to get 4.5 installed properly. Look forward to checking out the new features - thanks all!

What version were you running previously? Just curious because I am running .77 and I read that folks running .77 had issues when trying to upgrade to .89. My .77 install went great, I was just wondering what the difference was?
