When I did mine, I had 4.3 installed 4.5 but it wouldn't show it when I opened DM, it wasn't till I plugged in the device that it found the update and it installed, try that if you haven't already.

I'm having the same problem as rdnk1987 probably.
I've download and installed the newest 4.5 OS. Deleted the vendor file.
Connect BB to DM and it never prompts me for an update so I goto the application loader and it shows the newer OS.
I select it and click next and it says "No software update is required for your device"

Also look for a second vendor file, DM makes a copy and puts it in its own dir. Search and delete and then try.

If you are considering wiping the device, please follow the advanced instructions found here to the T! They will save you in the event something goes wrong.

Also, try downgrading your desktop manager to 4.6. DM4.7 likes to load official carrier OS's instead of the latest ones installed on your computer. That's my take anyway, I tried to load the latest on an 8320, had it installed on my computer, but DM4.7 wanted to load the official carrier release instead of the one I had installed to my hard drive.

OK, I decided to be brave and re-try this on my Sprint 8330.

So far I have nothiced nothing wrong. I guess he big thing is to make sure you have the internet package BEFORE you upgrade to a non-supported firmware.

No, not at the moment. I believe it is possible on the Storm but I haven't heard of it for any other model.
