Has any1 on VZW had major sound profile issues? As in no sounds at all 4 calls,texts,anything?! I also had the chirp once. I did a btry pull even reinstalled...no sounds. I had the same problem with the .160 release. Very shady. I need an official 5.0 release like YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey, im having that chirp problem with my OS. i've done a couple battery pulls and its still there.i tried changing the radio to .131 to no avail should i got for this 4.5.0.170? what about 4.5.0.131?...thanks

Yeap its an issue I've noticed as well. Seems this os has taken a few steps backwards with regard to errors. Luckily I've been able to reset bb and have audible notifications again. Rumor is os 5 is right around the corner....

Day 3 and no issues everything running great should hold me till official 5.0 release. I hope do miss text on 5.0 and some of the other cool things just to many bugs for me.

i installed this for my friend on her Verizon 8330 - phone acted 'weird' - like the camera didn't work and the profiles were screwy - until i resent the verizon service books, then it all went back to normal.

if you are having some issues - resend the verizon service books and do a
battery pull.

Honestly as a VZW slave I would say the 4.5.0.138 upgrade that came out 4 VZW a few months back is the most stable O.S. I've run yet. The leak of 5.0 is a really bad tease...u get a taste of the "goodness" at times but it was just sooo buggy 4 me. The .138 release is going 2 have 2 just get me thru till an official (or more stable beta) 5.0 is released.

Well its coming out soon. I've heard that they are thinking the next build will be the official. I haven't heard definitively if its going to be available for the 8330. Since we've seen leaked OS 5 builds for the 8330 before, I'd be inclined to think it will be. *fingers crossed*

I'm crossing everything!!! Me and my 8330 have another year+ 2gethr b4 I am eligable 4 an upgrade. Altho I do love my BBerry now, if the 8330 does get the 5.0 release officially it will make that year+ alot smoother. As it is we Curve owners have 2 hear about what a "low level" BlackBerry it is. I don't care...my 8330 has been 1 of the most durable and reliable cell phones I have ever had. Unless it's running .170 lol...

Would I benefit any from upgrading from .77? The only problems i have with the phone is sometimes it responds very slowly... which as you all know can be annoying. Other than that shes all good. Also... when I upgrade versions.. i see my Platform is 3.2.0.51 what is the difference from the new versions's 2.7.0.92 ? Does the platform change too when I do the upgrade? As you can tell I have never upgraded my OS before. This is just the way I got it back in feb 09

Your on the right thread, and this OS should give you better speed. The platform is part of the OS. There's a link to my guide as part of the first post, just follow along, and ask questions if you have any. Read through it first, so you have a better understanding of what you're about to do, and take your time.

I believe it is a network issue.

Loading Sprint's 4.5.0.175 now, I'l try the straight OS first, no hybridization. We'll see how that goes.
