ok so I am downloading this OS right now and I must admit I am a lil nervous..... I know there are ways to go back to an older OS or to fix a nuked "berry" but all the directions are a lil confusing when it comes to recovering it..... I am just hoping that all goes well and that I'll have no reason to go back in time hehe

For those of u who r hesitant on the Indosat download, Trigcom now has 4.5.0.55 available for the 8300/8310/8320
Hope this helps... options, options, options

Upgrade complete using Trigcom without a hitch, from what i c i'm running a little faster from the .52 lag i got and picked up a slight memory gain without losing any of my settings but then again thats just after the install... after a couple of days if i run into any problems i'll be sure to post it, especially to the sound volume

It does not matter which carrier this OS comes from. Its still the same 4.5.0.55 OS and each carrier/vendor just puts their own vendor.xml file on the OS.

Sorry Garz, just an optional find I came across that I wanted to pass along while I wait for TMO's stamp of approval to support that 4.5 is slowly making its way around the corner to our local carriers

KimO, try removing any other OS version of 4.5 from ur computer leaving the one u just downloaded. Is the version of 4.5 u upgaded to previously a later version then .55? Desktop Mgr might not recognize it if there is a later version already installed if u follwed all the steps from the original post.

I uninstalled everything... then I reinstalled the new d.m. plus the 4.2 that came on my phone.... I then installed the 4.5 mentioned in the original post of this thread and still nothing (oh yes I deleted the vendor) so I dont know lol oh man I feel like I wasted soo much time on this.... oh I forgot to mention after I uninstalled everything and reinstalled d.m. and 4.2 I downgraded my OS to the 4.2

Thumbs up

I installed the new OS with no problems... WOOO HOOOO. I had 4.2, I like the 4.5.0.55 so much better. I really like the changes in the Calender. I LOVE THE VIDEO!!!

I like the new BB Dimension L theme, it lets me see my background pic so much better(pic of my hubby who is deployed to Iraq), the installed with the OS. (atleast i think it did i dont remeber it being on there before)

Thank you so much for posting the instructions.

Really? I don't see any of that after I upgraded.

After I upgraded my 8320, I turned it off and pulled the battery. I put the battery back in and all I got was a flashing red light. Took it out again, put it back in still the same thing. So I went online to find out how to recover from that and after about 5 or so minutes, it came back to life.

One thing I noticed after this upgrade was the constant appearance of the hourglass that was interrupting what I was doing. I did a battery pull and that cleared it up.

I have significantly more free memory (4 MB's) with .55 vs. .52. Some of this I attributed to following Pete6's guide for upgrading using Crackmem, and some I believe results from a smaller OS. I haven't had a chance to check the latter.
