Is it possible to upgrade from v4.2.2.180 to this latest release directly?

Thanks!

if i am using DM 4.7, do i still need to bother with the JL Cmder?

i am also stuck at the DM stage where it asks me to select which file to update and when i click on either the 4.5.0.81 or the 4.5.0.124, and click next, it tells me that there are no updates available.

i've been reading the replies to this thread forward and backwards but can't seem to figure this part out. please help.

DM 4.7 is the problem. Uninstall 4.7 and install 4.6. Then it should work.

I own an 8310 from ATT but had it unlocked to put in a T-Mobile SIM card. Now I cant seem to get any of the apps to work right. I cant download anything because it is an ATT phone with a T-mobile network. Can I install the 8320 OS on the 8310 to fix this?

No. OS's are device specific. You can only use the 8310 OS on and 8310 and an 8320 OS on an 8320.
