1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed. It's 4.3, found Here
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded. (Choose the Curve 8310)
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
Have some patience, this could take an hour to complete. DO NOT unplug the device until it is finished!
Thanks (again) Click! One LAST question--I hope. How do I find the file to delete. I know you have instructions that it's C etc--how do I find that line to delete the vendor part?
Click, I'm on AT&T. Will doing this upgrade cause AT&T specific settings to be deleted? I'm wondering about things like email service books, etc. Also what about my personal settings; ringtones, icon order, theme, etc? Will that get all messed up?

No, you will be fine! Just do a backup!!!!! Then everything will be golden!!!!
