    Hi everyone:
Well I'm happy to be able to say that I am now into my seventh day with my 8330........I was so overwhelmed the first couple of days that I almost called Verizon, cancelled my data plan and went back to my old razor. I am learning slowly but have a couple of basic questions:

    1) I have spent about two hours trying to figure out if I can make
my BB notify me with a beep or some other kind of sound notification
when I have a missed call or a new IM???? I usually keep my phone
down inside my purse and if I have left my desk and come back in,
I don't know if I have missed a call or message without some kind of
notification (besides the flashing red light - which I can't see in my
    purse.

    2) If I buy a 2 or 4G memory card, where does it go? I don't have to
physically take my device apart do I? Yikes....I destroy most
    technology that I touch.....

I actually had a couple other questions but can't recall what they were
just now. Oh well......I can always come back can't I?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Welcome! Glad you stuck around. I had an 8330 and miss it sometimes, it's a great device!

To the best of my knowledge I don't know of a native setting to do what you are asking. There may be a 3rd party app that you can look into though. There are a ton of them out there...

you'll have to take the back off and the battery out, but I am positive you can do that, its very simply. The hardest part will be sliding the small metal bracket back and fourth to get the card in, but I anm sure you will do fine.

    1) I don't thing there is a way without a 3rd party software...

    2) the micro SD card is under your battery...not to big of a deal to put in...its in a little metal bracket thing...just take a look...

Probably someone else can chime in and confirm this...

    Since I'm a newb also...

I use blackberry alerts, 3rd party app, you can customize the led colors for missed events like SMS, CALLS, VM, CALENDAR etc, I have purple for sms, a bluey green color for missed calls and VM and white for calender, also in the BB profile you can set the reminder, either tone or vibrate etc, back in the BBA options is a timer as to how long apart you want the notifications if you missed it, 1 2 3 4 etc mins, mines 3 mins and its vibrate, but you can have a tone too. You can also make your own colors in the custom area.

Available at handango.com and I *want* to say here in the CB store, but I know for sure at handango.

Also, to let you know, the blinking will go off once you touch the keyboard or trackball, not when you open the missed even, just an fyi - as it assumes since you moved or touch the keyboard that you are aware of the event.
