just got it today and I let the battery go down to 10% and now I'm charging it.. how many hours should I let it charge? And my other question is, how should I handle first few days or weeks of charging the battery?... A few solid suggestions would be much appreciated..

    1) DO NOT run your battery down that low. The Phone will shut off
the radio to conserve power and it will eventually degrade the
useful life of the battery, (depending on your OS)

    2) It is much better to top off Li-Ion batteries rather than run
    them down.

    3) Let it charge as long as you like or until the little plug thing
goes away. There is a circuit in the battery that will prevent it
from overcharging. I charge mine overnight while sleeping and
then whenever I can throughout the day.

so on this FIRST day, just let it run 'til it's fully charged? Not run it for 12 hours, like I've heard people tell me...

In the future, let it run 'til about 30%-50% AND THEN CHARGE IT, right?

The first part is essentially correct. I never charged any phone
that long out of the box.

As to the second part if you can regularly "top it off" that would be
better, but 30-50% will not cause you any trouble.

By top it off I mean charge it even if it is over 70-80%.

Think of it as more like a PDA which people usually keep charging when ever they can, vs. a phone which people often forget to charge until it's almost dead.

I'm sure glad you clarified the "top it off" for me 'cause I was just about to ask. With my pearl, I topped it off just like you said and I didn't have a problem with the battery in the eight months I had it. So hopefully, that stays true to form with the curve.

I have another question: Should I use it like I normally and eventually will or should I take it slow the first few days? For example, I won't put in windows messenger or facebook until monday or so. Or should I just put in those applications tomorrow?

You already had a Pearl so you are familiar with the Curve. There
is not much different with the OS, so yeah load that bad boy up.

Just keep an eye on your memory and remember themes take up
quite a lot of memory so you might want to avoid putting a lot of
    them on the phone.

PDA = Personal Digital Assistant. Like the Palm Pilot, Audiovox Maestro, etc...
Does basic time management, scheduling, calendaring and such.

I just have the four basic themes on there. I'm not into themes so I won't change mine. It doesn't hurt to just keep the original four or should I try to delete one. My current one is the Dimension L.

You don't want to delete any of the Dimension themes. They act as the
backbone for many 3rd party themes. You may see one that catches your eye.

I am not a theme person either, but I do have a Vista Blank theme (NO icons
    on the homescreen.)
