ever since upgrading, i notice when i go under my applications list i see the following apps.

    blackberry mds runtime
    blackberry mds default launcher
    blackberry s/mime support package
    dod root certificates

i have no idea what these things are.

i also have an icon that reads "certificate search" on my home screen that was not there previously. anyone know if i can delete these, or if i need them?

You didn't have to add them in the advanced part of the upgrade. At least you don't need them.

The MDS software is for coprorate supported customized software, you can safely remove them if you not a corporate client.

s/mime and dod root certificates are simular, most of us will never have use for them.

It is safe to delete them.
