I am currently running 4.5.0.77 thru verizon. Do i need to go thru the verizon site to update to a newer version or is there and easier way on here? Thanks
That is the current Verizon OS version. You can update to another vendors OS if there is a newer one but you have to remove the vendor.xml file. There is a "How TO" thread on this site that tells you how to do it. I don't know for sure how as I just stick to official releases.
You say you "need" to update.. But the question I always ask people is "why?" Is your phone working? Is there a feauture you are lacking? If not- don't mess with a good thing.

I've never experienced this " speaker blast " issue with .77, I know about it. I'm just sticking with .77 its working fine for me, I haven't ran into any serious issue for me to upgrade my os.
