My curve all of sudden has a white screen saying app error 523. I have tried rebooting, taking out memory card and sim card and nothing. I read that trying to update the software would help but my computer doesnt recognize that its plugged in so likewise the desktop manager doesnt see it either. Anyone have any ideas?

You need to wipe your BB and reinstall the OS.

I looked back through 3 pages, going back a week in the New User Forum. Unless the thread is a sticky or continuously active, it vanishes quickly.

That error is called an Uncaught Exception Error. It happens when the last active thread has terminated. It indicates a serious problem with the OS on the device, it has become corrupted.

The only way to recover it is to rebuild the System software.
