Default need help going to older BB

hey everyone. I'm not a regular here so if this is in the wrong place...sorry. I'm just trying to find out how to go from a Tmobile 9700 to a verizon 8330 that i used to use. i need to go back to verizon for a while for an extended trip and want all my data on it instead of my 9700. i backed up my 9700 on my desktop and then tried to get it to copy onto the 8330. didnt work....can anyone help?

9700 has v6.0.0.448 (platform 6.6.0.124) and 8330 has...v.4.5.0.191 (platform 3.4.0.62)

How did you try to "get it to copy onto the 8330"? What steps did you follow?

And what happened?

i connected the 8330 and tried to sync the backup file from the 9700 to it, but i couldn't locate it. and when i just hit the sync button...i synced an empty 8330 to the desktop. i played around with the settings but didn't find much that i thought would help me.

"Hitting the sync button" is not going to work because the sync function does not connect to the backup file.

You need to use the RESTORE function and navigate to the backup file that way.
