At the top of my 8330's screen, I have an envelope icon showing 7 unopened messages. However, I have gone through all of my emails, my SMS and MMS, and cannot figure out what these "mystery messages" are supposed to be, or how to get rid of them.

    Any help appreciated.

Hmm. Try going into your inbox and highlight your most recent date. Select Menu>Mark Prior Read.

Do a battery pull this should solve your problem.

from your main screen, hit the bb menu button. check "show all". scroll through all your icons to make sure you don't have a message in a folder that was previously hidden.

By the way, is it a normal message indicator? IE an envelope?

Thanks for all the responses, but I am still seeing 7 messages next to the envelope, and have no idea what to do next...

Yes, and when I receive new email, the number goes up appropriately. However, all of my email inboxes are empty, and the envelope still shows 7 unopened...

you did try a battery pull right? Because if not maybe you have low memory and your inbox can not hold the messages as they are coming to your device

So a battery pull didn't fix it?

And you tried not only the battery pull, but also selecting the Mark Prior Read option?

Battery pull and mark prior did not work, correct. No voicemails waiting, etc. A mystery.

    Hey good call!!
    hahaha thank you

post your file free space accessed by going to options>status>file free and if its under 12,xxx,xxx then that is most likely the problem and you can use Stoner Memory Guide to help you trouble shoot

Have you checked for hidden folders? I had this problem today as well. I had hid my messages folder and when I showed all and looked into that folder the message was there unopened.

And I didn't see OP's post before mine. Hmmm... I'm stumped. I've posted the same sage advice for others and they found a hidden folder - problem solved. Not so for you, though... Hmmm.... memory - okay. No hidden folders. Mark all prior read didn't work... It's odd that you have seven. Most people have one in a folder or some other glitch, but seven?!? Makes me think there is a folder somewhere with messages accumulating. Did they all show up at once or has the number been climbing?
