Default My blackberyyy wont activate! WTFF!!!

Okay so i got a blackberry curve 83xx from a friend and i switched my number from my old phone to this one and now it wont activate! whats going on?

1) explain 'activate'
2) what was your previous phone?
3) do you have a BIS plan?

i have not a clue. i was givin this phone, i used to have a cheap phone. i went on alltell.com and switched my number to the blackberry then tried to call the *228 number and it said it couldnt activate it.

well it seems you don't have a BIS (blackberry internet service) plan, since your last phone was a 'cheap phone'

can you make calls right now?
or send txt messages?

Then maybe you should call your carrier and ask them for assistance before you do some damage.

And if it's an Alltel branded 8330 and if you are still on an Alltel plan, then you need to CALL the Customer Support in order to activate it because you will have to agree to the adding the data plan.

Otherwise, you likely will not be able to use that device.
