This would be my first post. I have searched and turned up nothing. For some reason either my bb or google thinks I am in canada when in reality I am located in the us all of the time and would never set in canada due to the temperature. So is it my phone being confused or is it something else. And how do I fix it? Thanks in advance.

You haven't really explained what your problem is very well. Where does it say you are in Canada?

BES Server means it a corporate run bb
BIS Server means carrier run bb.

If you got your bb and it is attached to your company, you are on BES.

If not then you are on BIS.

After doing some research. I have concluded that I am BIS. I do not connect through an intranet. I connect straight through verizon.

I don't know if this will help. But did you set your timezone correctly?

Well the issue then is mostly likely because BIS connects through RIMs servers in Canada. I remember hearing about this before, I'm not sure if there is a resolution or not though, sorry.

I will double check on the timezone thing but does anyone else experience this? This is rather annoying.

Go to your Browser and menu / options / cache options and clear everything. That should get rid of the google cookie

Also google uses your IP to determan where you are. To get a new IP do a battery pull.

The thing is that through BIS everyone worldwide gets shown as being in Canada thanks to RIM's blackberry servers with their compression systems to optimise content for the Berries.

Wipe your device after you back it up and resend the servide books. Did you buy it from vzw or offline?

I have, but it never occurred to me because I am in Canada too.

At the heart of BlackBerry Internet Service is a server farm located in Canada. That is where the actual IP connection is made and where IP aware applications, like Google will see and taylor content.

Backup your phone through desktop manager. Download the 4.5 os through your carrier and download jl_cmder. Wipe your phone and re-install the os. See if it does it again.

Try going to google on the bolt browser or opera. That would make sure your not running through rims servers. Do you still get CDN content?
