is it normal for my BB to say i still have messages when i have already deleted them?
i get 4 or 5 msg envelopes and i keep checking my voicemail/msg's etc. and nothing
eventually after a few hours they clear?
    is this normal?

I've never had that problem with my 8310.

Make sure that you have the appropriate folders showing, as opposed to hidden, to notify you of new messages/information.

Split SMS/MMS and Emails. Then check your options to ensure when you read them you do not have the counter.

Try to go to the very top and select the menu button and hit 'mark prior opened'. Maybe there are some in there you're missing or stuck?

Go to Messages. Then go to Options. Then go to General Options. Under "SMS and Email boxes" change option to 'Separate'

Also In General Options, you should see "Display Messafe Header On" and "Display New Message Indicator" I have the first set to Auto and the second set to Unread.
