So I used to have a Motorola Razor V2...

    Now I own a Curve...

My question to you us, will my car-charger work for the Curve? Both Motorola phones...the USB fits...

It doesn't work the other way around though. My BB charger does not charge the RAZR. Wish it did, cause the BB charger came with different plug adaptors (great for travel!).

This is great information. My wife has an old Razr charger that I can steal and plug in at work so that my battery doesn't drain when I'm watching videos. Er, I mean, working dilligently!

Some devices (though they have the same port) use different pins to charge. A lot of the time PDAs and other devices don't agree on charging ports... however RAZR charges seem to work with Blackberry devices.

yeah it's probably because of the charging pins ...

but Igo is a good solution you can get a splitter and charge both at the same time ^_^

Has anyone noticed a decrease in the charging speed? Or seen the moto charger charge the phone from dead?

    MiniUSB is MiniUSB

I charge mine in the car with my mum's TomTom charger and she charges her TomTom in the house with my BlackBerry charger.

I thought because they were the same, my BB would charge. I have several motorola chargers that will NOT charge my Pearl no matter what I do or how long I leave it in there.

I've pretty much replaced all my Moto's with BB chargers.

The Blackberry wall charger is, without doubt, the best way to charge your phone. It was designed for it. You get the best battery life between charges by using this charger. There have been several threads about this and it is so.

The Blackberry conforms to the USB standard pinouts Mini-USB of Blackberry 6210, 6220, 6230, 6280, 6510, 7100(g, i, r, t, v, x, t), 7130(e, c, g), 7210, 7230, 7250, 7270, 7280, 7290, 7510, 7520, 8700(c, f, g, r, v); Creative Zen Micro, Zen Micro Photo, Zen Neon and other PDA devices pinout and signals for 5 pin mini-USB so therefore you might think that any standard charger or USB cable connected to your PC will charge your phone - wrong. Not all of them do unfortunately.

Motorola 5 pin mini-USB plug connector diagram and applications @ pinouts.ru chargers do work with Blackberrys.

The USB specification for a single port is to supply half an amp (500mA) of power at 5volts. The Blackberry seems to be, well, fussy about where it gets ist power from.

I have several Blackberrys and 6 PCs (two of 'em portables), I have several USB wall chargers, 3 or 4 car to USB chargers and a load of USB to mini USB cables and I have never go to the bottom of what charges what every time.

I have connected different combinations in the morning nad had them work. In the afternoo, the same combo does not work and, vice versa.

So, if it works, it works.

I had a razr and both the Motorola car & home chargers work fine with my curve. Though I do try to use the BB chargers most of the time. As it's better to use what was made for your BB.

If you look on the back of the chargers you can see the input and output of each charger. The Moto Razr charger I have outputs at 550mA compared to the 700mA of the BB charger. This seems to tell me that it will prolly take a little longer to charge the BB with the Razr charger.
