I did a search but I didn't see the answer to my question below.

The little " number" notifcation at the top of my phone is not showing up. I get the blinking red light and I get the the red star next to my messages but not the count of how many message I have.

I did a battery pull and that didn't help. What else can I do?

Try this

Open up your message icon and press menu and choose Options. Now select general options and make sure "display new message indicator " is showing Yes.

Yes the display indicator is showing yes.

Right above the "display new message indicator" is another option "display message count" The options are unread and none. Mine is set to "unread" and it displays fine. Might want to check there.
