I'm pretty sure once it gets down to zero, it's permanently locked to the carrier.

It is not permanently locked to the carrier, but it requires cable unlocking. You will need to take it to a shop that is capable of doing cable unlocking, or contact one of the unlockers in the unlocking forum that does cable unlocking. If you choose an unlocker in the forums that does cable unlocking, you will have to send the device to them.
You cannot use codes to unlock it. The shop needs physical possession of the device to unlock it with a cable.--Laura Knotek (formerly known as lak611)

^^ your doing free unlock codes, or free send-in unlocks? If your doing the free codes, then that is very generous. But the send-in will not work out too well since you have once post and joined this month. Just saying. But good luck. If your doing the unlock codes though for free, PM me please. Thanks.

Your Blackberry is "hard-locked" and can't be unlocked using a remote unlocking service... only with cable solution such as DM3... try to find a mobile phone shop near by, maybe then have the cable solution for you..
You can also sell it to someone that uses the carrier it's branded to. - 02-17-2012, 07:48 AM #16
