Just Wondering If Anyone Else Has Had This Happen With Their Curve. Seems No Matter What After A Few Months My Media Card Dies. I Have Tryed A 16 Gig As Well As A 8 Gig Both Have Died Only After A Few Mothns. What Gives? I Don't Understand This. Any Advice? The Only Card That Works Is The 2gig.
the only thing i can think of which might cause this is a problem with the SD card slot itself. it could be damaging the card over time (over heating it maybe, causing it to become deformed?).
SD cards should last for a long time. Unless you're rewriting the entire contents of a full card on a 50 times a day basis, there is no reason for a card to die that fast.

Do you - by any chance - tend to just pull your memory card out of its socket while your phone is still on? Doing that could cause your card to not work as it should. Just asking...please do not be offended.
Unless you are getting defective memory cards - they should last for years. The way the memory card is handled has a lot to do with how long it will last.
@tediprude: no offense man, but have you even owned a curve? it is impossible to pull a SD card out of a curve while the phone is on. The battery is in the way. unless by some strange chance the phone stays on when u pull the battery
@BKWilliams: checking your os in your user info says 4.5.0.xxx is that right? Link
Is this a 8330 curve? I thought these units only handled up to 8 gig. But I guess I was wrong if you have used a 16 gig card.
What brand of Sandisk MicroSD cards are you using. I bought an 8 gig PNY and so far so good. The only thing I have done is loaded the card up and transfered some music. I don't write much to the card itself, unless the Phone does any writting.

It depends on OS, not device itself.
BlackBerry Device Software Media Card Size Limit
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 -- Up to 2 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 -- Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 -- Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 -- Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 -- Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0.81 and above -- Up to 16 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 -- Up to 16 GB
As for the OP's original problem, what symptoms are you having that let you know the card is bad? I have a 16 gig in mine and am now experiencing random rebooting. It seems everything I look up about crashes mostly lead toward media card problems. I have just formatted and installed the 1 gig that came with the phone and will see what happens now.

Reason: fixed 4.6.0 card, it is only 16 gig
I have. 8330 curve and have had it for two months now. I put my SD card from my old phone in my curve and a week later I had to buy a new SD card. I haven't had any trouble since but now you have me wondering.

Maybe U Just Have Really Bad Luck When It Comes To Sd Cards. Try Buying Them From A Different Source. Like Bestbuy Or Walmart. Maybe The Lot Is Bad. Contact Sandisk Maybe They Can Help.
