Reason: well...'cause I'm a newbie
What about the "CLASS" type? Shouldn't we get a CLASS 4 card instead of a CLASS 2 card? From what I have read, Class 4 cards read/write faster with the BB then Class2 cards.
Can anyone with Facts verify this. I've done a lot of reading and from what I read the above seems true.
The only 8gig Class 4 card I can find is from Kingston.
speaking of cards...what is the largest card available for the curve that works well?
Size depends on the OS you are running. I'm running 4.5.0.124 and have a 16G Micro Card Just fine. Here is a chart: The following table lists BlackBerry Device Software versions and the supported media card size.
BlackBerry Device Software Media Card Size Limit
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2.196 Up to 8 GB per Verizon Release Notes and confirmed by users.
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0.81 and later Up to 16 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 and later Up to 32 GB
I hope that helps I actually bought a 2G card and reader when I got my BB as I didn't know any better. Now I know better and get my cards at Micro Center or even Walmart.
thanks.. I have the latest ( to my knowledge) sprint OS available which is 4.5 so I can get a 16 g card no problem...thanks. ALSO I found cards at radio shack cheaper than walmart.
Class 2 or class 4 really won't matter. The internal bus speed of the BB is the limiting speed factor. You may see a subtle difference between the 2 in the BB. The real speed difference is noticed when in a reader, connected via USB. And IMHO, that too isn't worth paying a big premium for the faster card rating.

This. **** no I got a 4GB from Best Buy for that price. It was of course during the November/December madness sales but you can find much cheaper ones online and newegg was offering free shipping on a 2GB card for $7 a month or two ago. Look around and try and save as much dough as possible. Memory prices are always rising and dropping depending on who has what and how much during any given time.
Memory is like Oil everyday you will see a new price change.

Buy the biggest card your device software will support & you can afford. I was able to get a 16gb close to Christmas for $59. I have program I bought from SlySoft called CloneDVDmobile that will copy a DVD in order for you to watch it on your BB. Came in handy on the plane to & from NY.

Never buy anything from the phone store. Their prices are outrageous. I go to ebay a lot and buy accessories for about $1 and then pay about $5 shipping. Depending upon the item I'm purchasing sometimes I buy the generic, but usually try to stick to the OEM products.
