searched all over for help on this one but came up empty. just installed an 8GB card to replace my 4GB into my vzw curve. after getting it to format the card, the curve tells me that it's only 2GB! am i missing something, or did i get taken by the ebay seller?

ps - yes, the card clearly is labeled as 8GB

    thanks

Go to Options >About. What OS are you running? If you are running anything above 4.5.0.81 it should be supported, if not you will need to upgrade to a higher OS to support the card...

If you have the OS that is on the Curve when you bought it you may need to upgrade to allow yourself to be able to use the maximum amount on your card check your OS version here.

Edit: Try formatting the card on your computer then trying it on the Blackberry

Put the new card in, then remove your battery while the device is ON, wait a minute and replace...

it is. only thing i could glean from it was maybe a matter of insuring the card was formatted in FAT32. reformatted on the computer as such, but still coming up as 2GB.

If I'm not mistaken, it should be formatted as FAT16.

EDIT: I take that back, I just checked, my 8 GB card is in FAT32, reported total available space is 7.39 GB.

Contact the seller, maybe the card is a mislabelled 2 GB card?
