The number you get *is* bytes. No translation needed if you want bytes. Maybe I'm not understanding the question?

    Look at it like this.

    36 000 000
    equals (approximately)
    36 megabytes

    1 byte
    1000 bytes = 1KB
    1000 KB = 1 MB
    so and so on

    Actually, to be technically correct:

    8 bits = 1 byte (B)
    1024 bytes = 1 Kilobyte (KB)
    1024 Kilobytes = 1 Megabyte (MB)
    1024 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte (GB)

If you have 36 MB file free you have more than enough for the device to run normal.

Yes you are correct but most manufactures of harddrives memory and storage media dont give you that so they can make there device look bigger or to easy to understand so most people that buy the 16 gb only see 15.62 gb and wonder !!!

Delete old messages if you have a lot. Make sure pictures, etc. are stored on the media card and not internet memory. Also try this link:
