I just installed a 4gb kingston micro sd card in my 8320, but when I try to download app world it says I have insufficient memory. I believe I have configured my media card correctly per other forums but have no luck. I have no other apps or saved media/messages on my device. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.

Did you format the card by going to...

    Options>Media Card>Menu Button>Format Card ?

What is your file free memory? Options, Status?

Your Media Card has nothing to do with App memory, other than to hold as much media content as possible to keep them off your device memory which leaves device memory clear for apps.

I did format the card and my File Free is 553597. Can I transfer existing apps or messages to my card to free up more space?

Half a Megabyte of memory does explain your problem, that is criticaly low.

Unfortunatly, your media card is not able to accept Applications or your data, it only accepts files.

You are in desperate need of Memory Optimization, make sure you start with a Backup.
