Is there a way to "lock" the applications screen (the screen that lists all the applications on the device) as the home screen? Wen I turn on my blackberry I want to see the applications screen and not the home screen.

Sorry no can do. The Home screen is the Home screen for a reason

If you don't wan the Home screen then try changing to the Icon theme. Go to Options, Theme and select an Icon theme to see if you like it. These themes do not have a Home screen.

I am curious, why would you want the Applications list on hand?

It does not change very much, you could capture a screen image and use that for your wallpaper (background image).
