I loaded the Boost 5.0 on my back up VZX curve 8330. When i say backup i mean that its not activated any more so the radio is off. I am missing my browser icon even know it shows in the core apps section. could this be because the phone is not activated?

Yes. My Berry didn't get its browser until I activated the PIN on RIM's site.
