Just a newbie question: Is there such a thing as a list of running apps on a blackberry? Can more than one app be running at the same time?

I was able to see the "switch app..." feature, but it seems that it closes anything you had open when you switch.

Go to Options/Advanced Options/ Applications. :-) That will tell you what you have on your Berry, but not necessarily which ones are running at any given point in time. I don't think there is a program akin to Task Manager on a PC.

What I said is what's running. There are some that always run. Home screen,messages,call log, browser, and bb messenger. And if you don't properly close apps by hitting menu then close they WILL stay running

Bear in mind also that there 5 app that cannot be close:
BBM, Browser, Call Log, Home, Messages. They will always
appear in the list.
