This says "UK" what is this? United Kingdom?

It works fine, only the shift keys are switched.

It's just the carrier folks. Any carrriers OS will work, as long as it's for your device. Just follow the instructions on the first post.

I'll hold it upside down

Any idea what the powerup/down splash screen is?
My 8300 "curve" (it says "edge" on the about screen) still has the At&T splash screen.

The splash screen won't change. Neither will your carrier theme. Virtually all OS contain the information for every carrier.

Edit - That wasn't clear enough. The splash screen is flashed to your chipset, and not part of the OS at all. It's damn near impossible to change it.

Default Ghosts in the machine?

Since I got this BB used it still has the original owners email setup in it.
If I do this upgrade will it clear that out?
I though DM would take care of that but it doesn't seem to have that function.
Or is there a menu I can't access until I get the new t-ball?
