Latest Official OS for 8310 OS 4.5.0.188
I stumbled on this OS in one of my searches
BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.313 (Multilanguage)
Package Version: 4.5.0.313
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.5.0.188
Software Platform: 2.7.0.110
File name: 8310M_PBr4[1].5.0_rel313_PL2.7.0.110_A4.5.0.188.exe
File size: 91.0MB
Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.
you can download it from the German T-mobile site:
Blackberry
When entering the Blackberry Support Area website select "Germany",
then select "Free Download Area",
then select "Neue Handheld Software mit Twin-Bill Fix (4.5.0 rel 313)" under the News section,
then select the "8310" folder,
and then select "Handheld Software 4.5.0 rel 313"

I just upgraded to this version a couple nights ago. Seems to be working OK so far except for a little issue I noticed is with respect to the new text message notification icon that appears at the top left of the screen. Instead of just getting 1 little message icon, it's actually showing 2; one above the other. Mainly just cosmetic, doesn't affect anything..just a bit annoying is all.

Ive had trouble getting it to download... locks up and just sits there on my desktop.
I did finally get it to download the otherday but had a heck of a time installing it on my 8310. took about an hour to install and now it runs super slow. also draines my battery to half even when just sitting on the counter. In a matter of a day or two, the battery will be dead. Luckily this isnt my primary phone anymore, I upgraded to the torch, but I still want to keep it up to date. I am downloading the update again and am going to try and reinstall it again, otherwise I'm going back down to a previous version.
edit... still not wanting to fully download... I can only get between 5 to 37 mb before it just stops.Last edited by overkill; 01-23-2011 at 12:57 PM.

upgraded my old 8310 for my daughter the other day. Had followed all your prompts after backup of the old OS and applications using DM and BBSAK. Alas, I've been told the upgrade made no difference. In fact it caused headaches including loss of applications and all the contacts. My question becomes: Why would the backupps show the files when one checks the saved backupp but they don't appear on the phone itself?

Another Link
Blackberry
Not sure if I can upload links or do not have enough posts yet, so if that does not show up, when you get to their support area, go to Endegerate then BlackBerry then Software then 8310 then handheld.
