I want to know about upgrading the memory card. I want to put a lot of music on it so I need the maximum amount of storage space. I know the current OS can only handle like 2 gigs, but the new one will be more.

So, if I am planning for the next OS, what is the biggest card I should get? Also, if I get a big one, will I be able to use it with the current OS up to the 2 gig limit?

Your current OS can actually handle 4GB. The upcoming 4.5 OS will be able to handle 8GB but in the meantime if you buy a 8GB card, your BB will still read 4 of the 8GB.

I have a 4 GB card in my 8310 with 2 full movies, a ton of pics, about 5 ringtones, and over 150 mp3s and still have 1.4 GB free on the card. As Garz has said with OS updates 4.5, the new 4.3, support will go to 8 GB. I have not seen if Kevin has told us how big a card his 9000 with 4.6 can handle.

If you put an 8gb in your 8310, you have to format it IN the BB, and it will format it to 3.6gb or whatever "4"gb really is.

Then, once the OS comes out, you can format it again, bact to the full 8gb.
