So I have tried wiping my phone with JL_Commander, and some program named Blackberry Master Controller or something like that, but even when I wipe my phone with those programs it doesn't kill everything on my phone, like for example when I reinstall Pandora it automatically knows my username also.
I have been having a problem with VAD popping up and going into an infinite loop which prevents me from calling people, and doing other things.
So I want to know how in the world can I wipe my phone so clean it doesn't even know its name.
I have tried:
JL_Commander Wipe.
Blackberry Master Control Program: Complete Wipe and Factory Reset.
If your wiping your device with jl_cmdr you should have gotten the 507 error afterward. Meaning there is no OS on the device at all. Did you do a backup restore after you wiped the device?
Ok in that case. I have another problem. I have reassigned my left and right convenience keys to Left:Keyboard Lock, Right:Camera. And when I try and make a call VAD starts initilization and does not all me to talk or hear to the person I am calling and just does this in a loop...
I have tried all those wipes above to try and fix it, and have yet to fix it.
EDIT: After wiping I always reinstalled everything. I did not use a backup at all.
dont use those programs they can damage your ROM chip that holds the OS
instead use Options > Security Options > General Settings
then press BBMenu key and Wipe Handheld and tick the box that says wipe third party applications
it will reset the phone to as if it was just out the box..
I have tried a wipe and complete OS install. Including trying with two different OSs(4.5.0.77[Verizon's Latest] and the newest one[Hybrid with .131])
I would not like to remove VAD as I do use it to voice dial with my headset, but if that is the only way I will definitely do it.
Also I might add it seems like the events that happen are as follows:
1. I start to call someone.
2. The speaker doesn't work.
3. I hang up because I can't hear anything.
4. Voice Dial pops up.
5. I close Voice Dial.
6. Goto 4 Repeat Infinity Times.
All that does is set it back to factory settings. Removing the third party apps. The OP has done full OS installs and still has the problem. I dont know of anyone who has had jl_cmdr damage their device like you suggest.
Heresy: Yes. Basically there is about a 50% chance that when I dial a call I have to pull my battery.
geeneeus: Yes I did try that. It failed. (I am assuming that is the same thing as a factory reset.)
Heresy: jl_cmdr did not damage my device. I used JL_Commander to try and wipe everything to reinstall the OS, but it still didn't work. I still have the underlying problem no matter what OS I use.
