Hello i just got my curve yesterday and i am a noob to this, how do i update my phone to the most recent software, my curve is in 4.2.2.180, can anyone help me out on how to update it. Thanks in advance

Well, sure, Ive done it a bunch of times.. before you start, do a back up.. its easy to recover, people are always willing to help..

Just take your time and read thru the instructions.. use DM 4.5 or 4.6 nothing higher, this works better.. do not unplug the berry until the end.. DM will tell you once its finished.. takes about 35-60 mins.. youll be fine

You wouldn't want to do that kind of update over the air anyway. Too many possibilities for losing the connection, or just the briefest hiccup in the process, and the phone's a paperweight. That's why even your computer downloads its operating system updates to the harddrive first and then installs them.

Alright I haven't done the update yet, and I was wondering if I need a program inorder for my computer to recognize my blackberry since its a second hand bought phone?

You need to have the Blackberry Desktop Manager installed on your PC. Try the 4.6 version You can get it from blackberry.com Your computer should have no problem if you have the desktop manager software installed. Good luck

alright im about to download the blackberry desktop manager v4.6 but idk if to get the one with media manager or the one with out, wich one would be best to get in order to not have any problems in the update, please let me know as soon as posible thanks!
