Usually the term "hard reset" refers to a battery pull (as ncbound responded) but perhaps you mean wipe the device and reload rhe OS? Battery pull doesn't normally cause data loss. I've never had a device failure requiring rebuilding the OS. It's very rare but can happen. You might consider syncing with a desktop, or doing a backup on your PC.

That is what I am refering to. I am wondering how often these devices have ever crashed so bad they needed to be completely reset, all data lost. My Win Mobile device crashed about once a month, I couldn't live without an app to restore all the contacts etc right from the SD card.
So far my BB has been perfect. I restart it every day with the Alt R-shift Del method.
I also do backup my device atleast once a week with desktop, so no worries there.
I guess I should have previewed my post to make sure it made sense..... DOH !!!
