    What do most folks recommend for a reasonable amount of free memory to have on an 8330 Curve?

    I know what was suggested when I had my Pearl but the Curve has much more memory than the Pearl did so I'm not sure what number I should be shooting for.

    I have an 8gb Sandisk memory card in my Curve - and under status - my Curve shows 37419556 Bytes under "File Free" and 83623936 Bytes under "File Total".

    Other than Empower Pro, Pac Man, Cberry Launcher, NY Times, ESPN, Infospace, Pinstack, WeatherEye and the Bphone & Precision plazmic themes I've not installed anything else on my Curve.

    Thanks!

    I have 4GB card and average 39 for free device memory. I am probably too careful but my BB is a major business tool for me.

    Nope - I haven't done anything.

    I'm assuming you mean removing the standard wallpapers, sample video and other applications that come standard that may not be used by me?

    I know with my Pearl I removed all the semitic characters and languages other than English - as well as the stock wallpapers, videos and BB messenger.

    I sit at around 47 free at all times however, 12 is the minimum to keep your device stable. I would assume it would be difficult to dip that low on the cdma curve, seeing as it comes with 96.

    CDMA owners are not allowed to brag,
    My 8320 sits at 25mb with 6 3rd party apps counting CB. It will drop to about 19 over the course of a 24 hour period. I do my mem cleaning routine every morning to get back to 25 to start my day. Everything is good and steady in BB land

    There really is no point for a CDMA Curve owner to even consider optimizing their memory. It would take a huge amount of messages, applications and browser cache to come anywhere near the point of "low memory"...

    I am jealous. I want 96Mb *stomps out of the room pouting* haha

    I have optimized mine. I subscribe to the theory of the more memoury, the better. True, cdma curve owners do have a ton of memoury to work with in the first place, however more available memoury equals even more space for apps and other stuff.

    It's OK buddy , I don't even need all of mine. Hows about I split it with ya? Here, you take 16mb of mine , go ahead , I want you to have it.

    You feel better now?

    Funny thing.... my friend works at RIM tech support and has a Curve.... a GSM one. I got a CDMA one I don't have any trouble rubbing in how much free memory I have lol.

    I am sitting at about 42 MB file free right now. And I have installed a BUNCH of 3rd party apps and themes too!

    I DO feel for you guys with GSM curves though!

    Cdma = sprint, vzw, altell
    Gsm = all others, mostly

    Gsm phones use sim cards. Cdma phones do not.
