24,xxx,xxx for me but 16 isn't that bad. Search "How to increase free file" to get more memory...

16 - 18 Mb is typical out of the box.

The answer depends on whether you have a media card inserted and have made make the Device Reserved Memory setting changes.

That is the single biggest memory hit on a new device. 5 Mb reserved for Pictures and 15 Mb reserved for device media.

After setting the media card as the picture destination, setting picture reserved to 0 and device reserved to 12 Mb (5 Mb in v4.5), you should be seeing 20 + Mb after a restart.

16 Mb in original form is not enough file free memory. 8- 10 Mb is typical device use and that brings you into the device reserve at 12 Mb.

Hey Stoner, quick question: I found how to change the device memory limit to 12, but how do you change the picture reserve limit? I have an 8830 with OS 4.2, if that makes a difference. Thanks.

88xx World Edition does not have a camera. You do not have any image reserved memory.

I can see this may be confusing for the OP.

When an 8330 Curve has 50 Mb of free memory, that is comparable to our older devices having 50-32=28 Mb File Free memory. That extra 32 Mb goes a long way toward solving the low memory issues.

The picture reserve limit is the DML. I think. PlZ correct me if I'm right.

I thought you were talking about images such as downloads from internet/email. I have been so long without a camera, I didn't even think about that.

There are two setting of interest. One is made from the Camera Options, the other from Media Center / Options.

It is possible the setting has a different name, depending on the OS version.

battery booster really isn't worth the money. it boosts your battery by like 5-8%
battery watcher gives you the voltage, temperature, and exact battery level.
i.e status shows 95% battery watcher says 93%
