Hey all, Im new to blackberrys and on my previous phones when I would get a new text message, the screen would light up. Now I just get the small led flashing light at the top. Is there a way to make the entire screen light up as another indication for a new message?

I just installed the newest BB Light this morning & have to say that I'm liking it so far, you can set how long it stays lit & even have your email inbox open if you want. The newest version will even add Ring & Vibrate to your phone, I'm using the older BuzzMe so I really don't need that but good to know. When you download it you have to set it to light up for SMS & emails, also I realized that you when mess with the settings, make sure you CLOSE & don't EXIT when you leave, I exited it today & it didn't light up, but when I went back in & closed it, it lights just fine now.
thats great for emails, but is there a sms autoview like that for emails in here? Would love something like the iphone has, that would be one great app.
this works and it does light up when i get a message. but is there a free app that automatically shows my message? its kind of pointless to light up when i still have to open the message manually
No free ones that I'm aware of, I've done the free trials of a few of them & still up in the air between them. There were things I liked about them & things I didn't so it's going to be tough for me to decide on one to actually buy, for me right now I'll be happy with the free back light coming on until someone gives us a free preview app.
I tried out BerryPopup & Aerize, probably going to try out some others as well until I find one I really like. Like I said, they both had things I liked & didn't like so for now it's a toss up.
