I was on a BES with my curve(that I bought with my own cash), but am no longer on it, so I gave that to my wife.

my old bes software won't let her run email setup, or install gmail accounts on the phone.

how do you get rid of that software?
the password screen is driving her nuts every 2 minutes, and I can't remove that unl;ess I remove the BES software as well.

and no this isn't as easy as enabling or disabling password in the security area, this is something I haven't run into before, and google and search yielded me nothing. more than likely that is because I didn't know the terms correctly.

and no the add/remove program area didn't do it either, this thing is crazy tough

Your BlackBerry has an IT policy in place that requires a password. Removing the IT policy will allow you to re-configure it for BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) and decide how to manage the password.
