Default How to disable blackberry services/processes from running in XP background ?

Does anyone have a handle on the best way to disable blackberry-related services and processes from running the background. I was able to sucessfully keep Blackberry desktop manager from auto-launching when I restart my computer... But.. I am trying to cut back on the # of processes I have running in the background.

Anyone experimented with disabling blackberry services/or processes.

What is the best way to do it ?

Some people say disable the process or service using MSCONFIG under the "services" and "startup" tabs.

Others say don't use MSCONFIG and use SERVICES.MSC instead to disable them.

Does anyone have experience with this.

I am running Windows XP home edition.

thanks!

Your, right. I don't either, sorry. I guess I only saw them before I disabled BB desktop manager from the start up folder.

I am still confused about the difference between processes and services and where is the best place to disable them....some sites say use msconfig, others say use services.msc. ??

If you go to 'start' then 'run' and type in msconfig, then that will take you to some processes that you can manipulate upon startup.

However, as mentioned above, once DM is not loaded automatically, nothing else should be slowing your system related to Blackberry.

I think you need to look elsewhere other than this forum I'm afraid...?

Tain - you're right, I can't see any background processes running since I deleted DM from the start up folder.

thanks everyone, Jason.
