Is there a way to hide an entire folder of pictures in our media card? I know individual pictures can be hidden by selecting properties and then clicking hidden. How can I hide folders?

You can do it on the pc.... But with file mangerpro you should be able to zip the files on the bb thereby unabling the bb to read it

Not sure if or how much difference there will be between the 8320 and 8330, but on my 8320, I am able to go to the folder I want to hide, hit the menu button, then properties, then selct the properties option. From there, there is a box to check as hidden, then close. Bam! Hidden.

Haven't used a 8330 tho, so not sure if it is the same.

I've tried that, ill highlight the folder and click properties and then hidden but the folder won't go anywhere. It just won't hide.

After doing the above, try resetting the BB - either a batt pull, or Alt-R/Shift-Del.

    Good luck!

Go to the media > Menu > Explore and have the folder you want hidden highlighted. Hit menu and select properties, you will see a checkbox for hidden. Select it and it will be hidden. Use the show hidden to view it for selecting its properites to uncheck it, if you need.
    Good Luck!

hrm...will this stop the BB from trying index those images or no? My curve cramps up so bad when i go into the media menu for pictures. I've posted this several times with no real solution...basically my 8330 indexes the WHOLE 8gb memory card rather than sticking to just the default pictures folder. I have software tools and other such data stored on my phone some of which contain small icons, graphics, etc...it sucks having the phone read all that stuff when i just want to pull up a quick picture or something.

edit: when I try to hide a folder it just closes my media manager completely.

If ou want to hide folders the easiest way is to hide them in the system folder. It is in the blackberry folder. It is hidden. Just click properties and uncheck hidden. Now save your files in the folder and rehide the system folder when done. Your media icon will no longer find them.
