I have some icons that I dont want on my screen, or that I will never use.. is there a way to hide them.. and then I think I better ask how to unhide them for possible future use LOL

Scroll to highlight the icon you want to hide, then use the blackberry menu key, when the menu pops up, scroll to hide.
Once there is a hidden icon (or more) and you are on the home screen, use the BB Menu key to "Show All", this will show the hidden ones.
