i installed 4.5 onto my curve
and i wanted to downgrade back to 4.2
so, i delete EVERYTHING, to do with 4.5
and i re-install 4.2
i reboot the computer
plug in my berry.
go onto app loader
and it only show the 4 apps i have installed onto my blackberry, nothing gets downgraded
i need some help please?

Did u wipe it completely or did u just try to take off certain parts? Did you redownload 4.2 and delete the vendor file?

Did you go to C:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete a file called vendor.xml

If not do so and you should be all set to rock and roll.

The key step is using Windows Control Panel to uninstall the offending version.

When that has been done, you should get the downgrade routine.

Try uninstalling everything including 4.2 and your desktop manager. then download and reinstall 4.2 and your DM and do everything over, including (very important!) deleting the vendor file. This maty take about an hour and half or longer but try it anyways.

OK, lets start over. What EXACTLY is the problem? And what EXACTLY are you trying to do? Are you just trying to go back to OS 4.2? Are you getting any error message? If nothing was wrong with 4.5 why are you going back?

You first need to uninstall 4.5 completely by clicking on the 4.5 install program file and select Remove. This will completely remove 4.5 from your computer.

Next you need to reinstall 4.2 on your computer (don't forget to remove the vendor file before downgrading)

Plug phone and run Desktop manager then choose to downgrade and your done.
