I have done a million OS updates on Blackberry devices. However tonight going to the latest .55 version, Windows decided to crash in the middle, leaving my BB 8310 basically on version 2.7.0.68 for some reason even though I was already running 4.5.0.37 and its a black and white screen and I am unable to do ANYTHING.

How can I get back to 4.5?

DM wont even detect my phone at all now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

2.7.0.68 is .55. If your screen is black, and will not come up after a battery pull, and will not connect to the Desktop Manager; you need to wipe it with JL_Cmder and reinstall the OS.

This is what he's talking about: JL_Cmder Javaloader Utility

It works. Happened to me when my son accidently unplugged my berry from my laptop in the middle of installing .46 last month. Tough break, but, you will be back up and running. Just follow the link previously mentioned. Good Luck

Wipe with JL_cmdr... follow the guide in my profile for upgrade/downgrade procedure, there is a part about JL_cmdr as well!

Just want to thank everyone for such QUICK responses. What a great community it is.

I managed to salvage the bad install and use DM to get it installed to 4.5.0.55 and then restore my backup, back up and running, thanks again!
