Hi everyone
First let me apologise if these questions have been asked before, have been browsing these forums for hours and can't find the help I need.
I've upgraded to 4.5 on my curve this afternoon, and now can't get JiveTalk to work. It keeps coming up with some error message about some Java NullException or something.
How do I fix this, and if I can't, how do I downgrade to 4.2? I found a thread telling me how to do it, by deleting the 4.5 from my pc and then when I plug it in, it should ask me to downgrade but it don't.
Please please please help me as it's driving me mad!!!!!!
Have you tried uninstalling, reinstalling & reregistering Jivetalk?
To do a downgrade you need the 4.2 OS on your PC.
yup.
keep in mind that you should always do a clean install with a large upgrade like going from 4.2 to 4.x, but a "like system" install like a minor update 4.2.x.xxx to 4.2.x.xxx is fine to update as-is.
this is because so much has changed, previous applications may not run properly and can cause issues until those have been tested, proved, or otherwise updated to work with the new OS.
in your case, it sounds like an installation conflict that can be easily resolved by removing and reinstalling as Hazysky suggests. i can also confirm that Jivetalk works just fine with 4.5.x.xx handheld operating systems.
it depends which company you are with. you will want to have that specific version of the software. or you can download the generic software from blackberry.com and it will work
OK you have uninstalled the OS 4.5, Opened DM,
and connected you BB. And it did not prompt you to downgrade?
Before doing any of the above suggestions (good but might not be
necessary at this point) click on Application Loader, that may trigger
the downgrade. If it does continue through to finish
